The Wines

Now to date the only decent vino to come out of Britland is a sparkling called Nyetimber (yes we do stock it & it’s bloody brilliant), so we have had to go around the globe to find an excellent & unusual selection to cover all tastes, here we have a choice of organically produced vinos to keep your conscience clear no matter how much your head gets groggy.

The Wine List

We also stock the largest range of wines by the glass in town so that you can work your way to
your favourites.

The Beers

A good Lager usually means going abroad. We admit to this, in part, & stock a fine pint of Nastro. But we also pit this against a fine pint of Oranjeboom (previously from Holland, now from Kent) and some excellent bottles of Freedom (from a farm in Staffordshire).

Spirits

The advantage of an anal retentive bar tender is a very complete spirit shelf, with eight different vodkas, seven different rums, five different brandies, four different gins & a partridge in a pear tree. The disadvantage of an anal retentive bar tender is wind.

Cocktails

We like the classics, & we like messing with them. We have one of the shortest cocktail lists this side of The Rovers Return. It is also probably the longest list not written down. Instead of writing a long, interminable list we prefer to create off the cuff. So if it isn’t on our short list – just tell us what you fancy. We call it creative licence to suit the palate. We’ll supply the ingredients, the ingenuity & the flair. You supply the requirements.
